Bids Roll In & Out For Albania's Power Distributor
October 2008 | M&A News AlertSeptember 29 marked the deadline to submit bids for Albania's power distributor DSO. In June the government selected Italy's ENEL, the Czech Republic's CEZ and Austria's EVN and Energie Steirmark to take part in the tender. Anywhere from 51-76% of the distributor is up for grabs, and it emerged on September 29 that ENEL and CEZ have submitted bids, while both Austrian investors have withdrawn. Tom Sipos, the representative of the World Bank's International Finance Corporation in the government commission, has said that it is now assessing the two bids, and will consider their financial offers if they have met
