US soft drinks behemoth The Coca-Cola Company has made a US$2.4bn takeover bid for Chinese fruit juice manufacturer Huiyuan Juice Group. If successful, the takeover - the second largest in Coca-Cola's history and the largest ever acquisition of a Chinese company by an international investor - would cement Coca-Cola's dominance over fierce rival PepsiCo in the Chinese market, while improving the company's foothold in the high-growth and profitable juice sector and increasing export opportunities to neighbouring Asian
