Calling Tandberg
August 2008 | M&A News AlertTechnology-focused US private firm Silver Lake is reportedly ready to pay at least US$2.59bn for Norwegian video-conferencing firm Tandberg, but rivals could be waiting in the wings. Shares in Tandberg rose by 17% in Oslo on August 13 after the company said it had been approached by a private equity firm interested in talks on a takeover bid. Now local press has reported that Silver Lake, which specialises in investing in technology companies, is considering a bid of US$2.59bn to US$2.78bn.
