General Maritime & Arlington Tankers Agree Merger

A merger between General Maritime and Arlington Tankers was agreed on August 6. The two tanker companies have entered into a definitive agreement whereby shareholders of General Maritime will receive 1.34 shares of the combined company for each of their General Maritime shares, while Arlington Tankers shareholders will receive one share of the combined company for each of their Arlington shares. The new company will trade under the name of General Maritime on the New York Stock
