NYSE Euronext And Qatar In Another Bourse Tie-Up
June 2008 | M&A News AlertBourse M&A looks set to continue this year between developed and emerging markets. On June 25, NYSE Euronext agreed to purchase a 25% stake in Qatar's Doha Securities Market (DSM). NYSE Euronext beat out the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Deutsche Börse in a takeover battle which highlighted the growing scramble for EM markets, as growth in developed markets has slowed. To date we have seen NYSE Euronext buy a stake in India's National Stock Exchange, while Dubai and Qatar took minority stakes in Nasdaq OMX and the LSE.
