CDC's Move On India
June 2008 | Top StoriesCDC Group, the UK government-owned private equity fund of funds announced on June 23 their intention to invest US$250mn in three new Indian infrastructure and real estate funds. The emerging markets specialist is teaming up with two Indian groups, Kotak and Infrastructure Development Finance, as well as UK firm Actis, in its bid to join the increasingly large group of companies entering the sector. India has witnessed a boom in private equity interest of late, with investments of US$6.2bn in 2007, three times the amount invested the year before.
