Uganda Announces First Islamic Bank

On June 16 at the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Business Forum in Kampala, Uganda the formation of the National Islamic Bank of Uganda was announced. The bank will be the first of its kind in the country and is in line with the increasing presence of Islamic finance in Africa.
