New Research Charts The Outlook For European IPO's
May 2008 | IPO News AlertA Report by investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort , "European Equity Strategy: The European IPO Cycle" has predicted that 2008's poor start shows the environment for IPOs in 2008 will continue to be weak. From a cyclical peak in 2006, the IPO cycle has "been on the wane ever since". The report shows that, given IPO momentum, currently negative, is part of a cycle measured in years and not quarters, no new boom can be expected in 2008. This report comes after a Q108 which it shows saw just 47 deals worth US$1.9bn, and amid an economic climate that lacks the "market confidenceā¦investment appetiteā¦. [And] euphoria" that produce IPOs.
