Agrium Completes Acquisition Of UAP Holding
May 2008 | M&A News AlertCalgary, Canada-based Agrium, the world's fourth-largest fertiliser producer, has completed the acquisition of UAP Holding Corp after agreeing to the US Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) anti-trust conditions. Announced last December, Agrium acquired 98.5% of UAP's outstanding shares on May 2. Agrium has agreed to pay US$39 per share, valuing UAP at US$2.65bn. The company had originally hoped to close the deal in January or early February, but was delayed by the FTC.
