End of Week Stock Recovery, But Interest Rate Futures Tumbling

As we go to press, stocks are enjoying a strong end-of-week recovery, after American Express, the largest US credit card lender yesterday reported Q108 earnings that were ahead of analyst expectations. The same is true for earnings from Ericsson, Samsung Electronics and Volvo, whose results helped lift Asian and European markets too.
