One of BMI's core long-term themes - the emergence of an EM middle class - was underscored this week by US retailing giant Wal-Mart. Rising emerging market incomes are fostering an expansion of the global pool of consumers, enlarging the EM middle class, with significant consequences for developed and developing market company activity.
