TransCanada To Buy New York City Power Plant

Alberta, Canada based TransCanada Corp has agreed to purchase Ravenswood, a New York City power plant, from National Grid. TransCanada will pay US$2.9bn for the plant which National Grid, a British utility owner, is selling to meet regulatory requirements for its acquisition of KeySpan Corp.
