Safaricom IPO Launched Despite Calls For Delay

Kenya's Safaricom began the subscription process for its share sale on March 28. The much anticipated IPO was met with thousands subscribing on the first day. Interested parties have until April 23 to invest in the telecommunications company, which will then list on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) on June 9. Share allocations will be announced on May 30.
