Ecopetrol Lists On Colombian Index As Heaviest-Weighted Company

Colombia's government-controlled oil company Ecopetrol listed on the IGBC index on April 1. The company, which sold a 10.1% stake to Colombian investors in August 2007, will account for 18.32% of the index. Last year the company also launched an IPO worth US$2.7bn. The proceeds from these sales will contribute to the financing of Ecopetrol's US$60bn expansion programme.
