Lotte Pushes On With International Diversification
February 2008 | M&A AnalysisFresh from its acquisition of a 49% interest in CTA Makro, the Chinese discount subsidiary of Dutch wholesaler SHV Makro, South Korean retail giant Lotte Shopping has taken total ownership of the operation. Lotte has acquired the 51% share of Makro's former joint venture partner China Trade Association Property Corporation in a CNY640mn (US$88.9mn) deal which should help facilitate its rapid growth plans in China.
