February 2008 | Closing BellAnother week, another schizophrenic performance by the equity markets. After a few days of strong gains, the party thudded to a halt following Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's less-than-optimistic comments on the US economy, and news that the so-called 'monoline' insurance companies may soon face a reckoning. It was a further reminder that until the global credit markets get straightened out, the rough ride for equities will probably continue.
