African Miner Buys Golden Cycle
January 2008 | M&A AnalysisIn the week that gold broke through $900, Africa's largest gold producer, AngloGold Ashanti signed a deal to buy Colorado-based Golden Cycle Gold for $149 million worth of shares. The deal gives AngloGold full control of Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining, the only surviving business from the gold rush that began in the area more than a century ago.
