Rising Car Ownership Brings Insurers To EMs

Rising rates of car ownership in Asian emerging markets (EMs), particularly in the ASEAN states, is attracting Japanese insurers to take advantage of the growth opportunities, often through mergers and acquisitions (M&As). CFW's forecasts for total passenger car fleets support this trend, as we expect the total ASEAN fleet to grow from an estimated 30.4mn units in 2011 to 44.3mn in 2016, representing an increase of almost 46%.
