Conad Buys Billa Stores As Local Operators Continue To Outperform

Italian retailer Conad has announced the acquisition of 43 Billa stores from Germany's Rewe. The purchased stores comprise 36 supermarkets and seven hypermarkets, and Conad has reported that the move will increase its share of the Italian mass grocery retail (MGR) market from 10.3% to 10.6%.
