As Privatisation Nears Completion, Domestic Drugmakers Look Abroad For Acquisitions

CFW View: As the privatisation of Poland's state-owned drugmakers and distributors draws to an end, it seems that domestic firms have been the main winners in the three-year process. Furthermore, it seems Polpharma has deepened its position as the dominant domestic pharmaceutical firm and has even shown a high level of international activity, suggesting it is more than capable of achieving growth outside the local market. With only one major manufacturer left for full privatisation, the Polish economy's continued resistance to Europe's wider troubles could renew interest in Polfa Tarchomin.
