Sembcorp Remains Fixated On Chinese Water Infrastructure
October 2011 | Corporate Financing AnalysisSembcorp China Holding , the Chinese utilities subsidiary of Singapore-based conglomerate Sembcorp , has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the formation of a joint venture (JV) to build, own and operate an industrial waste water treatment plant in the Chinese province of Jiangsu. CFW believes that this agreement, along with several recent MOUs signed with Chinese parties, highlights Sembcorp's strategy to aggressively boost its exposure to the Chinese water utilities sector.
