Senegal Proposes Higher State Stake In Telecoms Firms

Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade, revealed a proposal on October 20 2011 that will ensure the government has at least a 35% share in all telecoms companies operating in the country. According to Senegal's APS news agency, the proposed bill has been passed by the cabinet and would have to be adopted by the parliament to become law.
