Croatia's Agrokor In The Running To Buy Leading Balkan Retailer Mercator

Slovenia's leading food retailer Mercator is reportedly the subject of four bids for a controlling stake that would value the company at more than US$1bn. One of the favourites to acquire Mercator, which leads the Slovenian food retail sector and has assets across a number of Balkan countries including Serbia and Croatia, is Croatia-based food company Agrokor.
