Liberty Global's Kabel BW Acquisition Faces Delays

Liberty Global , a US group with cable operations across Europe through its UPC brand, faces a delay in its attempt to acquire German cable operator Kabel Baden-Württemberg (Kabel BW) after the German Federal Cartel Office extended its review of the acquisition. Liberty Global already owns German cable-network operator UPC Unitymedia. CFW continues to argue that the German market has sufficient cross-technology competition in both pay-TV and broadband services to allow the acquisition to proceed with minor concessions from the parties.
