NBTC Asserts Authority By Declaring CAT-True Deal Unfair

Thailand's new telecoms regulator, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC), has declared that the 3G network agreement between True and state-owned CAT Telecom has violated two regulations as it skewed the competitive landscape in their favour. We are encouraged by the NBTC's effort, which could be seen as stamping their authority on a market which has been embroiled in years of uncertainties and disputes, to protect the interests of consumers and the remaining players in the industry.
