Schweppes Eyeing IPO, Soft Drinks Looking Good

Schweppes Zimbabwe is considering an initial public offering (IPO) on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) in H211 (calendar), according to The Zimbabwean. With Zimbabwe's soft drinks industry coming back strongly after the 'lost decade', the likes of Schweppes and Delta Corp, which is the Coca-Cola franchisee in the country, are going to be investing in growth over the next few years. After falling to about 10 litres, per capita consumption of carbonates is forecast to grow substantially over our forecast period to 2015. Dollarisation in 2009 has brought a lot of impetus back into the Zimbabwean economy.
