Tanzania - Rwanda - Burundi Railway Under Consideration For PPP Procurment

A proposed railway to link the port of Dar Es Salaam to Rwanda and Burundi has an estimated cost of US$5bn according to the most recent preliminary studies. This adds to the value of railway projects in the pipeline in the region, which according to BMI data is worth an estimated US$18bn. This line will compete with a planned freight line linking a new port in Tanga, Tanzania, to Uganda.
