No Fourth Mobile Licence, Telecom Egypt May Buy Out Vodafone

The issue has been under consideration for almost a year as the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) sought to determine the impact a fourth player would have on competition and pricing. Incumbent fixed-line operator Telecom Egypt, which reportedly had been tipped to bid for the licence, may now instead look to take full control of the mobile operator it owns in partnership with Vodafone, CFW believes.
