CADE Approves Vivendi's Acquisition Of GVT Holding
March 2011 | Privatisation AnalysisNews: France-based entertainment and telecoms group Vivendi secured approval from the Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE) on March 23 2011 for its acquisition of GVT Holdings, the holding company for Brazilian fixed-line and broadband operator Global Village Telecom (GVT). In January 2011 Brazilian telecoms regulator, Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel), approved the takeover bid made by Vivendi. Earlier, Vivendi signed a final agreement with the country's stock market regulator CVM in December 2010.
